She was a lifelong member of Zions Stone Church, New Ringgold, Pa.
Mildred was a retired hairdresser and operated her own beauty salon in New Ringgold for over 40 years.
Mildred was a graduate of Tamaqua High School and Bryland Beautician School.
She loved to cook and bake, mastering many fine recipes. She loved to travel with Arnold and friends during their retirement.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold Luther Koons; and their daughter, Jacqueline A.K. Brown; and three sisters: Arlene Arner, Evelyn Miller and Eleanor Fry.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Marilyn J. Cichelli, wife of James, Hershey; son-in-law, Terry C. Brown, Wyomissing; grandson, Mark R. Snyder, Hummelstown; and great-grandchildren, Maxwell Snyder and Savanna Snyder. Brother-in-law, Carl Koons, husband of Alice, Jim Thorpe.
She always looked forward to family gatherings, especially with her grandson and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Mildred's Life, will be held at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home, Orwigsburg, Pa., on September 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. The family will begin receiving guests from 10:00 until time of service. The interment will be at Zion's Stone Church Cemetery following the service. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home, 116 S Liberty St., Orwigsburg, PA 17961, is handling the arrangements.
