Gloria Fenwick Rogers, 91, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 24, 2016.

She was born in Colonial Beach on Aug. 20, 1924. Gloria retired in 1987 from Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren after 45 years of service as a Contract Specialist. She served one term on the Colonial Beach Town Council and on a number of committees, most recently the Tourism Advisory Committee. Gloria was a lifetime member of Colonial Beach Baptist Church, Wakefield Chapter 77 Order of the Eastern Star, National Active and Retired Federal Employees and AARP.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest N. Fenwick and Thomas B. Rogers; and parents Aubrey and Mary Melson.

Gloria is survived by her brothers, George, Roger (Vicki) and Neil (Patty) Melson; and many nieces and nephews, including Barry (Elta) Melson with whom she lived. She also leaves behind a stepson, John (Shirley) Rogers, and their children.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 28, at Colonial Beach Baptist Church with a service beginning at noon officiated by the Rev. Patrick Walker and the Rev. Johnny Almond.

Interment will follow in Historyland Memorial Park, King George.
