Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the son of Dale G. and Edna Bynum Blevins. He attended schools in Fort Worth and later enlisted in the United States Air Force. After his discharge, he returned to Fort Worth and worked as a diesel mechanic and in 1984 he retired from the Fort Worth Truck Center. He married Earlene Blevins on Sept. 1, 1984, in Fort Worth and they moved to McAlester from Granbury, Texas, in October 2004. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Earlene Blevins, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Tim Duke, Mesa, Ariz.; a stepson and spouse, Stephen and Pam Moore, of Atoka; a stepdaughter and spouse, Barbara and the Rev. Keith Stanford, of McAlester. Also, seven grandchildren, Shinista Anderson and husband, Terren, of McAlester, Zackary Stanford, of Tulsa, Stephen Coy Moore, of Atoka, Ray Vasconcellos, Manteca, Calif., Nicholas Vasconcellos, Manteca, Calif., Laticha Polk and husband, Dru, of Smithville, and Dana McCarty, of Antlers. And, four great-grandchildren, Gaberilla Anderson, of McAlester, Victoria Polk, of Smithville, Dax Willis, of Atoka, and Coy Moore, of Antlers; two sisters, Ida Overman, Fort Worth, Texas, and Joyce Rowley, Arlington, Texas. Pallbearers will be Zackary Stanford, Stephen Coy Moore, Ray Vasconcellos, Nicholas Vasconcellos, Bobby Blevins, Buddy Blevins and Mike Blevins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Edna Blevins and three brothers, Dale Blevins Jr., Blackie Blevins and Wayne Blevins, all of Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bishop Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Dwane Owen officiating, assisted by the Rev. Keith Stanford and the Rev. Terren Anderson. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
