Rev. James Thomas Clark, age 73, died on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born in Dyersburg, TN on February 26, 1943 the son of the late J.T. “Clinton” and Mary Ruth Adamson Clark. Rev. Clark had served faithfully as a licensed minister with the UPCI Church for over fifty-two years in various locations. His ministry began in Hammond, IN as an associate minister leading to him starting a church in Jamestown, ND before coming to Friendship and the First United Pentecostal Church. In 1977 he came to Jackson with the Northside UPC and remained there for thirty-one years until his retirement from full time ministry. After retirement from Northside UPC he served as Bishop at New Covenant Pentecostal Church in Medina with his son. He was an accomplished vocalist singing with multiple gospel quartets over the years. Rev. Clark’s ministry was instrumental in touching the lives of thousands of individuals both nationally and internationally.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Faye Qualls Clark of Jackson, TN; four sons, Timothy Clark, Sr. and wife Anita of Medina, TN, Tony L. Clark and wife Pam; Nathan W. Clark and wife Sherry and Jason P. Clark and wife Amy all of Jackson, TN; his brother, Billy Harold Clark of Dyersburg, TN; eleven grandchildren, Rusty, Jared, Kristyn, Derek, Jordan, Allyson, Caleb, Chase, Caedan, Dalyce and Dylan and three great grandchildren, Russell, Kylee and Georgia Mae.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Lighthouse Church with Rev. Darrell Pollock, Rev. Jackie Wilkerson, Rev. Ronald Brown and Rev. Paul Cagle, Jr. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors and on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Lighthouse Church.
Rev. Clark’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers
