John Lamb, 85 passed away Tuesday September 3, 2013. Celebration of his life will be Saturday 10:00 A.M. September 7 at Towanda First Baptist Church in Towanda, KS.
John was born December 3, 1927, in Leon, KS to parents Russell and Floy (Gray) Lamb. He graduated from El Dorado High School. John also was in the US Navy and was a WWII veteran. He worked at Pester Refinery in El Dorado as a pipe fitter foreman and then a maintenance superintendent till he retired. John was married to Betty (Frazier) on June 28, 1968 in El Dorado. John was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He loved living in south Texas where he had many dear and loved friends. He also enjoyed, camping, dancing and visits from his family.
Surviving family members his sister; Lois (Cooper) Lamb, and children; Mark (Stephanie) Lamb, St. Joseph, Mo. Coeta Ward, El Dorado, Jack Ward, Wichita, Vanessa Hummel (Von), Towanda. Grandchildren; Nick, Ben, Issac, and Elaina Lamb, Lacy Cary, Chad and Jason Isom, Chris Harris, Bob and Jackie Ward, Beau and Tyson Hummel, and seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. John also leaves behind beloved nieces that will miss him dearly.
John was preceded in death by his son Mike, wife Betty, and son Zachary, also his parents and sisters Mary Lamb, Viola (Stephenson) Lamb, Dorothy (Wilson) Lamb, and Percy Lamb.
Memorials may be made out to Harry Hynes Hospice or the Towanda First Baptist Church.
