CJ was a beautiful black and white Shih Tzu, very gentle and very sweet and loving. He came to live with us in 1988 and had him for 7 wonderful years but have no idea of his age but know he was older when we got him. We couldn't have ask for a better little boy and he immediately fit into our family. He was so appreciative of our love and care and he sure gave love back to us many times over.

Friends found him out along a road in the rain and covered with mud. He had been living in a truck repair yard and fed by the workers. His fur was all matted and it had pieces of wire all wrapped in it. He had a place on his back about the size of a saucer that didn't have any hair on it. They brought him to our house wanting my wife to take him to the humane society animal shelter. She refused knowing that with his looks no one would adopt him and he would be put to sleep. She went into the house and brought him out a big hunk of roast beef which he gobbled right down and they made instant friends. The people left with him after I told my wife we couldn't keep him and they had no more than gone a block when I looked at my wife's long face and I ask her if she really wanted the dog. Of course she said "yes" and got on the phone to tell them we would be out to pick up our CJ.

We got him home, cut the wire and mats and gave him a bath washing all the mud off him. He turned out to be beautiful black and white and not muddy brown. We had no idea what breed he was. We took him to the vets and got him checked, shots and medicine to make his hair grow back. It did and he was beautiful.

Like all our other dogs, he sure loved to travel. We have a motor home and he would lay on the dash on his pillow and watch going down the road. He traveled many miles with us to many states.

You could not find a more gentle, loving and sweet "boy". We loved him so much that after he died we bought another Shih Tzu and named him CJ 2.

The morning he died I had already left for work. CJ died in my wife's arms about 7:30 AM with her washing his face, rocking and talking to him. It seemed like they ended the way they started, with so much love.

If you are looking for love, adopt a stray pet and you will never regret it. They always give you so much love and affection and want to please. In return they only ask for your love. We will see him again someday and continue our bond. He is so loved and so missed.

A special thanks to wicki, ciao-li & weezer--Wicki it was so kind of you to sponser CJ's page. I tried to send you an e-mail to express our thanks but couldn't find an address.
