PERU — Mahalia Sturgell, 29, Peru, died 7:32 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1976, in Andrews, Texas, the daughter of the late Stephen Sturgell and the late Sarah Collins Sturgell.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are four daughters, Sierra, Madison, Alexandria and Makenzie Sturgell; two brothers, Stephen Sturgell Jr., Columbus, Ohio, and Bobby G. Sturgell, Ashville, Ohio; stepmother Shirley Sturgell, Kokomo; two stepbrothers, Steve Russell, Kokomo, and Rick Russell, Kokomo; fiancé James Luke, Peru; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services are noon Wednesday at Ellers Mortuary, Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main St., with the Rev. Kenneth Spangler officiating. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Ellers Mortuary, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo.
