Benjamin Franklin Nickles, was born near Jamestown October 28, 1864, and died at St. Luke's Hospital at St. Louis. January 2, 1935, age 70 years 2 months and 5 days.

For a number of years he was employed by the Jamestown Mercantile Co., and when his father Judge Peter Nickles retired as secretary of that organization he suceeded him in that capacity. In January 1893, he resigned and moved to Billings, MO., and was in business there for many years.

At the time he was stricken with the illness that resulted in his death, he was visiting in the home of his neice and nephew, Jos. Meyer, and his sisters of St. Louis. He was the last member of his immediate family, 4 sisters and 1 brother having preceeded him in death.

He was a member of the German Methodist Church. The body was brought here Friday and the funeral services were held at the Evangelical church at 2:30 by Rev. J. L. Schmidt, and burial was in the Grace M.E. church cemetery.

Those from a distance to attend the funeral: Joe Meyer and sisters, Misses Dollie, Olive and Alma, all of St. Louis; Miss Mary Lou Hook [Huck] of Hoyleton, Ill., Miss Amy Garroute and Mr. and Mrs. Rhynholdt, of Billings, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roesch of Jefferson City and Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Meyers of Californa.
