He died Monday, January 13, 1997, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton at the age of 90. Jesse was a lifelong resident of this area and graduated from the Deepwater High School in 1924. On June 9, 1934, in Liberal, Kansas, he married Dovie Huskey. Jesse was a carpenter and also a farmer. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church and the Carpenters Union Local #1915. He is survived by his wife, Dovie, of the home; one daughter, Mary Crosswhite, Deepwater; three sons, Lewis Bybee, Sweet Springs, Robert Bybee, Arvada, Colorado, and Ron Bybee, Deepwater; one sister, Moreen Gehlken, Clark; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, William Lee Bybee, in 1982. Funeral services were held aSaturday, January 18, at the Consalus Chapel, Clinton. Burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery, Brownington.
