On January 4, 1928, in Gary, Indiana, she was born to Frank and Rose (Klosowski) Gremczyk.
Dorothy was a stay at home wife and mother, who loved being with and caring for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, especially her daily Bible readings, bird feeding and watching, and flower gardening.
On January 19, 1946, in Gary, Indiana, she married Adam Joseph Szczepanski, who preceded her in death in 1984.
Also preceding her in death were four sisters; and two brothers.
Surviving are two sons: Larry (Christine) of Valparaiso, and Robert (Brenda) of Chesapeake, VA; three daughters: Carol Truth of Hebron, Jean Samplawski and Rosemary (Rex) Gale both of Portage; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
A funeral celebrating her life will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Graceland Cemetery Chapel, 1505 E Morthland Dr, Valparaiso, Indiana 46383 with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Visitation and viewing will be held from 10 am until time of service Saturday at the cemetery chapel. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery.
