Country Music Singer, Songwriter. He started as a songwriter in 1941 at the age of 16. His songs either written or co-written were recorded by such singing stars as Gale Storm, Jimmy C Newman and Bonnie Guitar. Such songs as Dark Moon, A Fallen Star and Cave In recorded by Warren Smith. Ned wrote and recorded the hit song, From A Jack To A King which was also recorded by Jack Greene and Ricky Van Shelton. Ricky's version of the song reached the #1 spot on the country music charts. He also wrote and recorded the song Invisible Tears which has been recorded by a number of famous singers including the Ray Coniff Singers, Dean Martin, Connie Smith, Webb Pierce, Marie Osmond and Faron Young. He was active from 1956-1970, not really interested in his singing career due to stage fright, he retired and moved to Prescott, Arizona, then to Las Vegas, Nevada, and later settling in Medford, Oregon where he passed away.
