Helen was born on January 15, 1920, in Louisville to Hannah Christine and William Asa Cantrell.
Helen was a retired executive secretary for The Courier Journal for 37 years. She was a founding member and past president of the Kentucky Chapter of the National Secretary Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James William Cantrell; and her beloved sister, Marie Louise Bauer; nephew James and adored niece, Bonnie Lee.
She is survived by her dearest friends, Eileen and John Kirchgessner and their children, Catherine Salamone, Daniel Kirchgessner, Erin Weis and Ann Dreisbach.
Funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service.
