Caroline L. Temanson, 90, of Stewartville, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, of natural causes at Mayo Clinic Hospital — Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.
Caroline Griebenow was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Mower County, to William and Elsie (Lee) Griebenow. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. She was married on June 25, 1941, at East St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Rock Dell to Clinton L. Westrum. The couple farmed in Rock Dell Township, where they began their family, before moving to Stewartville in 1949. Mr. Westrum died in 1967, and Caroline continued to live in Stewartville. She was a homemaker and was employed at various jobs in Rochester and Stewartville for a number of years until retiring. Caroline was married on April 2, 1972, in Mantorville to Robert E. Temanson. They made their home in Stewartville. Mr. Temanson died in 1990.
Caroline was a past active member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Stewartville American Legion Post 164 Ladies Auxillary, both in Stewartville. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, following the Minnesota Twins, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton; her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jane Westrum; her parents; her husband, Robert; a sister, Lucille Corn; and two brothers, Bill and Gerald Griebenow.
A time of visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville. A private family graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville.
