Joan (Elmore) Bonta, 73, of Shepherdsville, passed away on September 24, 2016. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought great joy to her life. She loved horseracing, NASCAR, flowers, playing cards and Bingo.
Joan was born in Edmonson County, Kentucky on March 12, 1943 to the late Elbert and Orpha (Dyer) Elmore. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, Dewey, Trenton, Rayburn, and Dale; two sisters, Wanda and Ella Jean; and one infant granddaughter, Brittney.
Joan is survived by four children, Maria Diane Nugent, Thomas Sanders (Debbie), Lisa Wilson (Tim), and Johnnie Sanders; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm central time on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Cedar Springs United Baptist Church (8874 Brownsville Road, Brownsville, KY) with visitation from 11:00 am until time of service.
