He was born August 8, 1947 in Parkersburg, WV, the only child of the late James and Bessie (Lockhart) McIntire.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, whom he married June 15, 1996; two children, a step-son, and four grandchildren.
Tom was a 1965 graduate of Parkersburg High School, and a 1971 graduate of West Virginia University, where he received his Pharmacy Degree. Following college, he worked for a while in retail pharmacy sales before advancing his career and becoming the Director of Pharmacy at several different hospitals. At the age of 50, Tom went to graduate school and received his MBA.
In 1999, he took a teaching job at the WVU School of Pharmacy where he taught until his retirement in 2009. While there, he became a very beloved teacher and mentor to his students who he genuinely loved.
His hobbies included scuba diving, painting and being an avid reader. However, his favorite hobby was photography. He took amazing nature shots and glamour poses. Tom was a true and dedicated fan of the WVU Mountaineers.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal services. Tom will be cremated, and he will be laid to rest with his parents at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg.
