B.J., son of the late Ray Blume and Rosie Oreatha Blume was born in Ronceverte, West Virginia and lived most of his life in the Middle Georgia area. He was a member of the 2nd Division Armored Rifle Battalion, 41st Infantry, 4th Armored Division and proudly served in Germany when the Berlin Wall was erected. He was a 32nd degree Mason. B.J. was a skilled mechanic and spent his life doing what he loved – helping others and sharing his knowledge.
B.J. was the Chairman of the Property Committee at Bethel Baptist Church and a member of the Men's Adult Sunday School Class. He worked several jobs at once to put his children through private school and when asked he would always say, "I'm fine."
B.J. was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Rosie Blume, his 1st wife, Sarah Blume of 47 years, and his brother, Fred Blume. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
