JULIA SCHAAL, 80, DIES AT HER HOME EARLY THIS MORNING

Mrs. Julia Schaal, 80 years old, died at her home, 738 East Adams Street, at 2:15 o'clock this morning. She had been in ill health the last year and death was due to infirmities of age.
Mrs. Schaal was born in St. Clair County February 18, 1853, a daughter of the late John and Louisa Maddox, nee Tate. She was married to Charles Schaal at Belleville May 4, 1904.
Besides her husband, she leaves three stepchildren. They are: Hilda, wife of Albert Trichel, St. Louis; Clara, wife of Fred Uther and Lenora, wife of William Hopkins, both of East St. Louis.
Two brothers: Sam Maddox of Hollow, Okla. and William Maddox of El Centro, Calif., and one sister, Rose, wife of J.L. East of Chicago, also survive.
The deceased was a member of First Methodist Church.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon. Services will be conducted at 2 o'clock at Renner-Schneider Chapel by the Rev. W.I. Terhune, pastor of First Methodist Church. Burial will be made in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
