OWEN — Mrs. Elizabeth F. Bodendorfer, 87, a former town of Spencer, Marathon County resident, died at 12:20 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30, 1997, at the Clark County Health Care Center where she had been a resident since Jan. 31, 1994.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Mrs. Helen Brinkmann will be the organist for Frank Binder, the soloist. The Rev. James J. Logan, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Greg Bodendorfer, Kurt Bodendorfer, Michael Bodendorfer and Jerry Ertl, and great-grandchildren: Dustin Bodendorfer, Branden Bodendorfer and Derek Bodendorfer.
Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Rembs/Kundinger Chapel in Marshfield and again on Monday at the funeral chapel, until service time. Our Lady of Peace Parish Prayer Service will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Aug. 26, 1909 in the town of Spencer, Marathon County, to Alex and Frances (Boehm) Krohn. She attended school in Mannville. She married Andrew A. Bodendorfer, Sr., Nov. 8, 1927 at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield.
After their marriage, the Bodendorfers farmed in the town of Spencer, Marathon County, until their retirement. She continued to reside there until moving to Marshfield for one year until she entered the Health Care Center. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by a son, Andrew J. (Trudy) Bodendorfer, Jr. of Spencer; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura (Melvin) Tremmel of Marshfield; and a brother, Alex (Virginia) Krohn of Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 4, 1988; two sons, Donald and John; two daughters, Ethel and Rosemary; a brother; three sisters; and her parents.
