Rita Marie Brex
Rita Marie Brex, 87, of Laurel, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Lea LaChance. Rita was a retired composition setter for the Laurel and Seaford Star.
She is survived by her sons, William Brex and his wife Jean of Bridgeville, Peter Brex of New Milford, N.J., Thomas Brex of Netcong, N.J., and Lawrence Brex and his wife Kathleen of Allendale, N.J.; her daughters, Tina Reaser and her husband Jay of Laurel, Rita Moles and her husband Peter of Ridgefield Park, N.J., and Arlene Dare of New Jersey; and grandchildren, Charlene Reaser, Mary Jane Paletto, Catherine Williamson, Carol James, William Brex, Thomas Brex, and Donna Marie Brex. She is also survived by her brother, Peter LaChance and his wife Aurora of Orlando, Fla.; a special nephew, John Brex; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Brex who passed away in 1960; her sisters, Patricia Brex, Lucile Sosa, and Jeanine McBride; and her daughter-in-law, Ramona Brex.
A funeral mass was held on Monday, Sept. 26, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Seaford.
Interment was in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery in Blades....
Arrangements are in the care of Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, Laurel.
