Solomon "Sol" Ross Durrett was born 17 Jan 1842 in KY, the son of John and Sarah W. Murrell Durrett. Sol died 9 May 1926 in Lawrence Co., TN. and was buried in the Pleasant Point Cemetery located in that county.

Ross, as he was known by many in Lawrence county, was a veteran of the Civil War, serving in Nixon's 54th. TN, Inf. His pension numbers were listed as Pension #: S255 and Pension #: W8918. All the sons of John and Sarah Murrell Durrett served in the Civil War.

On 3 Oct 1865, Sol married his first wife, Mary "Molly" Harding/Hardin, in Lawrence Co., TN. Molly was born 01 Apr 1844 in Tennessee and was the daughter of Nathan and Mary Roberts Harding.

William A. or O. Durrett, born ca. 1866 in Lawrence Co., TN. He later relocated to Colorado.
John C. Durrett, born 1868 in Lawrence Co., TN. John also migrated to Colorado.
Fannie D. Durrett, born 12 Nov 1869 in Lawrence Co., TN, died 20 Sep 1873 in Lawrence Co., TN; burial in Richardson Cem., Lawrence Co., TN.
T. C. "Tommy" Durrett, 1871-1890
Joseph J. Durrett, 1873 - 1916, died in Little Rock, AR. Md. Eliz Gloz. Joe worked on the railroad.
Bertha Lilly D. Durrett, 1883 - 1938 Lawrence Co., TN; md. L. D. McDonald 4 Jun 1901 in Lawrence Co., TN., burial in Richardson Cem., Lawrence Co., TN.
Minnie Durrett. 1884 - 1976, died in Dallas, TX; md. Robert Carrell
Charlie Ross Durrett, 7 Sep 1885 - 1974; burial Center Point Cem., Lawrence Co., TN. Charlie married Mattie Comer 7 Aug 1907 in Lawrence Co., TN; parents of three sons before Mattie's death from cancer in 1916; md. widow Cordie (Woods) Abercrombie 10 Aug 1917 in Lawrence Co., TN; five children with Cordie and 1 step-son, Carmon Abercrombie.
Haughty Myrtle Durrett, 1887-1947; died in Winter Haven, FL; md. Robert Beard.

After Molly's death on 25 Jan 1903 in Lawrence county, Sol married Mrs. Johnnie McDonald (Lee) Wadkins 19 Aug 1904 in Lawrence Co., TN. M. M. Powell officiated the ceremony.

Sol and Lee were the parents of two sons and a daughter; Aaron, Harwood and Nola Durrett.

Nola Durrett married Dewey Lacroix 9 Oct 1923 in Lawrence Co., TN.
