Obituary for James A Brimmer

James A. Brimmer, 67, of Garrattsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Bassett Medical Center, with his loving family by his side.

James was born in Oneonta the son of Albert and Bernice (Decker) Brimmer. Jim was a lifelong resident of Garrattsville and attended Morris Central School.

Jim was a mechanic, school bus driver and then he became a truck driver. Jim hauled milk for many years and earned himself the nickname of “Milkman”. Jim then became a truck driver for several years for Ron Allen Trucking in Canajoharie.

In Jim’s early years he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed watching Nascar, and camping with his family. He was an honorary and longtime member of the Garrattsville Fire Co. Inc.

Jim is survived by his three children; Rodney (Tina), Rich, and Tammy (Don); his three grandchildren, Thomas, Jacob and Andrew; his sisters, Judy (Carl) Matson and Donna (Roman) Gregory and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery in Edmeston on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11am with a celebration of life immediately following at the Garrattsville Fire Dept. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jim’s name to the Garrattsville Fire Dept. 4413 State Highway 51 Garrattsville, NY 13342.
