Marie N. Sleeper

Caldwell-Marie N. Sleeper 92 of Caldwell, died Thursday, Dec 22, 1988, in a Caldwell hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday Dec. 27, at the Notus Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Obenchain and John Tietsort will officiate. Burial will follow in the Boise Lower Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Caldwell.

Mrs. Sleeper a homemaker was born Nov. 17, 1896, at Logan, Kan. A daughter of Oliver and Laura Wilson Pennington. At the age of 13, she moved with her family to Idaho. She married Eugene I. Conway on Feb 6, 1917, at Notus. The couple farmed in the Notus area and raised sheep. Mr. Conway died in 1921. She married Richard C. Sleeper on May 1, 1923, at Notus where he operated a lumber yard until his death in 1971. She moved into Caldwell in 1972, where she had since resided.

She was a member of the Notus Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church, Caldwell.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law . . . , a daughter and son-in law, . . . : a brother Howard Pennington of Notus. 15 grandchildren: 21 great-grandchildren: 18 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A son Edmund, died in 1963. A sister and a grandson also died earlier.

Memorials may be made to the Notus Baptist Church or the first Baptist Church Caldwell, or flowers may be sent. Friends may call Monday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 am until noon at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell.
