Lynn was born April 4, 1941, in Oakland to Laura and Edward Figurate and continued to live in the Bay Area most of his life. He spent his childhood developing a love for reading, camping, fishing, fixing cars and the Hawaiian islands. He graduated from the inaugural senior class of Harry Ells High School in Richmond in 1959.
He married the love of his life, Pansy Burnett, in 1962. They built their life together in San Pablo and raised their four children together while employed many years in the airline industry. They came of age in the golden era of rock and roll and treasured any occasion to dance. Later, at the prospects of an empty nest, Lynn and Pansy seized any opportunity to travel the world together.
Throughout his life Lynn expressed his gifts and talents through many passions. He focused his love for the outdoors by serving as a scoutmaster and many other volunteers posts with the Boy Scouts of America, and ultimately received scouting's highest award, the Silver Beaver. He expressed himself through art painting, sculpting, writing, cooking, woodcarving, blacksmithing, leatherworking, die cutting, and jewelry setting. His artistic abilities coupled with his leadership abilities eventually led him to serve as president of the Vallejo Gem and Mineral Society.
He was preceded in death by his bride of 44 years earlier this year. He is survived by his mother, Laura Cattolica of Alameda; brother, Peter Figurate of Ocean View, Hawaii; sister, Barbara Eggert of Stockton; and children, Pamela Riddle of El Sobrante, Lynn Jr. of Riverside, David of Gold Beach, Ore., and Richard of Buena Park. He had 13 grandchildren and was affectionately called Papa.
