Mr. Briah K. Connor, Jr., 82 of Frederick passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at Northampton Manor in Frederick. He was the husband of Vanda Connor, his wife of 58 years.

Born on September 27, 1934 in Portland, ME he was the son of the late Briah K. and Louise D. Connor of Barnstable, MA. Briah attended Bowdoin College and the University of Maryland. He was an oceanographer employed by NOAA. Briah was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, played ice hockey and softball/baseball and was also as an umpire. Briah spent a lot of time traveling overseas with both the Marines and NOAA.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children: Ann Close of Germantown and Briah K. Connor, III of Marriottsville; four grandchildren: Jessica Firsow and husband Nick, Kevin Close, Kara Proctor and husband Michael and Mary M. Close; a great granddaughter, Mona Proctor.

A memorial will be planned at a later date, as well as graveside services at Arlington National Cemetery.
