M. W. FRANCIS DIES OF CREEPING PARALYSIS

Veteran Painter of Fort Dodge Succumbs- Funeral Is Set for Thursday


M. W. Francis, 526 Third avenue north, a veteran Fort Dodge painter, succumbed to creeping paralysis at 7:45 Monday evening after two weeks illness which it was realized would be fatal. The funeral has been arranged for Thursday morning at 9:30 at Corpus Christi Church and burial will be made in Corpus Christi Cemetery.

Mr. Francis was fifty years old. He was born January 8, 1864, in Galena, Illinois, and was married in Illinois. His wife died before he came to Fort Dodge about twenty five years ago, leaving him with a little daughter, now Mrs. Dana (Fern Anna) Thomas of Des Moines. They came to this city and, eighteen years ago Mr. Francis married [Mrs.] Sarah E. Coyne who now is widowed. Besides his wife and daughter there are two sons, Cliff H. Francis of Walker, Minnesota, and Floyd Michael Francis of Geddes, S. D.

Besides the children, there are expected in this city for the funeral, some of Mr. Francis’ brothers and sisters who are Mrs. Deborah Maude (John H.) Wright of Globe, Arizona, Mrs. Thomas (Margaret) Quinlan of Dubuque, Mrs. Maurice (Dora F.) Sanger of Minneapolis, Mrs. Frank Keller of Carrington; Minnesota, Mrs. Thomas (Mary) Reber of Altken, Minnesota, J. C. Francis of Sioux City, and James Francis of Colorado. The daughter, Mrs. Dana Thomas was with her father at the time of his death.

Just previous to Mr. Francis’ illness he was employed as a finisher at the Monarch Telephone
