Services for Roy Smith, 75, of Natchez, who died Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his residence, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Damascus Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Elllingburg and the Rev. Dennis Calcote officiating.
Burial will follow at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until service time at the church.
Mr. Roy Smith was born on October 3, 1940, the son of John R. Smith and Ella Strait Smith. He was the fourteenth of fifteen children. Roy was retired from Pirelli Tire Company and a member of Morgantown Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Smith of Natchez; son: John Smith and wife, Jennifer, of Vidalia; two grandchildren: Johnathon and Julianne Smith of Vidalia; mother in law: Mildred Jones of Natchez and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Calcote, Paul Calcote, Daniel Calcote, Brian Smith, Nick Smith, and Chris Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Smith, Mike Smith, Jimmy Smith, Wayne Smith, Junior Travis, and Gary Golden.
