A MIDNIGHT MARRIAGE.
Justice Clarke Aroused From Bed for Ceremony.
Justice Clarke was called out of bed about 11 o'clock last night to perform a marriage ceremony at the court house, where County Clerk Riuck was kindly keeping late hours. The couple were John A. Murphy and Miss Mary Elizabeth Studer. of Coal Valley. The groom is a railroad man and couldn't get a holiday on which to celebrate his wedding so the affair took place between two days. It is said that Justice Clark has consulted an electrician about putting a night bell in his house

SERVICES TOMORROW
Funeral services for John A Murphy of Coal Valley, who died Wednesday, will be at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Furgie chapel, Moline. The Rev. Walter Menel of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate and burial will be in Coal Valley cemetery.
Mr. Murphy was born February 9, 1871, in Coal Valley and had worked in the mines more than 50 years. He was a sexton of Coal Valley cemetery seven years, retiring two years ago, and was a member of Captain Kittilsen post, Spanish - American War Veterans, and of the progressive Miners' union. He married Elizabeth Studer in Rock Island August 9, 1901.[1900]
Surviving are the widow; a son Thomas R. of Davenport; six daughters, Mrs. Alice Coorough and Mrs. Maggie Broeckmann [Boeckmann] of Davenport; Mrs. Howard Herrington, Mrs. Ray Weaver and Mrs. Andrew Schell, all of Moline and Mrs. Anna Woolley of Coal Valley; a brother, Joseph of Detroit Michigan; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Ulman, Mrs. Charles Dennison, Mrs. Ed Normoyle and Mrs. Andrew Weed, all of Rock Island and eight grandchildren.
