Jack Adams, 71, died at home on December 16th, 2006 in the arms of his loving wife, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jack lived with grace, died with dignity, and now is healed in the hands of God. He always felt that each day was precious and that every contact was meaningful. Jack always did for others, putting their needs and happiness first.
Jack earned a B.S. Degree in chemical engineering from the University of Georgia and a Master's Degree from Duke University. He was a veteran of the Korean War. In his lifetime, Jack enjoyed many careers including working as a chemical engineer in the petro-chemical industry, owning a motel, two restaurants, an insurance agency, an advertising business, and working as a career consultant. Jack held a pilot's license and loved flying. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, swimming, SCUBA diving, gourmet dining, dancing, meeting new challenges, and living life to the fullest. As a member of St. Elizabeth's Parish in Goshen, he served both as a lector and as a Eucharist Minister. He was also a member of All Saints Parish in Burlington.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Traks); his mother-in-law, Jennie Traks; his sister-in-law and her husband, Kathy and Paul Gold, and his nephews and niece, Paul (Crystal), Steven, Peter, and Karen Gold. He also leaves behind many loving family members and caring friends, including his staunch supporter, John Dodsworth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday in All Saints Catholic Church, High St., Burlington, with burial following in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Arneytown.
