Dash was born on September 18, 1923 in Decatur, the son of Glenn and Margaret Dickson Dash. He married Betty Lane; she preceded him in death in December 1984. He later married Rita Klotz on February 4, 1989; she preceded him in death in March 2016.
He is survived by his son, Larry (Linda) Dash; his daughter, Lindi Gibson; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and his beloved family in Oklahoma.
Dash graduated from Stephen Decatur High School. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army in World War II. During the war he landed in Normandy on his 6th day of service. He retired from Illinois Bell in 1982 after 41 years of service. Dash enjoyed camping, gardening, and going to Florida during winters. He was everyone's "Mr. Fix-It." He loved to help people.
