Harold W. Abbott of La Pine died Sunday of natural causes. He was 87.No services will be held.Mr. Abbott was born April 19, 1918, in Brush, Colo., to Glen and Nellie (Rhodig) Abbott. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1944. He married Hazelbell Angeline on July 15, 1941, in Vancouver, Wash.Mr. Abbott worked as a logger, butcher and barber. He was affiliated with American Legion Post #45, Disabled American Veterans, Oddfellows #41 of Junction City and the Moose Lodge of La Pine. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.Survivors include four sons, James of Washougal, Wash., Robert of Portland, Harold of Petersburg, Alaska, and Glen of Yuma, Ariz.; a brother, Loyal of Willamina; a sister, Wilma Wright of Payson, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, a twin brother and his parents.Memorial contributions may be made to Central Oregon Hospice, 2698 NE Courtney Drive, Bend, OR 97701.Baird Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
