She was born in Pulaski County, Arkansas on September 10, 1942 to Ray and Rosa Jackson.  The family moved to Lawton in 1950 and though she followed a military husband, Dorothy always considered Lawton home.  She was a dedicated homemaker wherever they landed.  She received the most pleasure being surrounded by her extensive family.  Dorothy loved traveling and adventure and had visited 48 states and a number of countries.

She and Bobby were members of Northwest Baptist Church here in Lawton where she attended the Heavenly Bound Sunday School class.  They looked forward to various activities at the church and the local Senior Center with all the friends they had made over the years. She was an avid reader and gardener.  She enjoyed music and was always ready to dance.
