Harold Scott Beasley, 84, died Monday, December 18, 2006 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Elmwood Memorial Park, with James McKinnon officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Born June 4, 1922 in Anson, Texas to James Luther Beasley and Etta (Scott) Beasley, Harold moved to Abilene in 1954. He owned B. J. Well Service and Scotty's Place, and was the manager of American Legion and Moose Lodge. A Marine Corps veteran of WWII, Harold was a lifetime member of VFW, Amvets, L.O.O.M., and American Legion. He was an avid bingo player.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, one brother, two wives, Cora Lee (Doby) Beasley and Dorothy Beasley, and a grandson, Terry Cooley, Sr.

Survivors include his last wife, Jane Beasley; four daughters and their husbands, Kay & Bill Foster, Kristi Beasley, Dorothy & Greg Padgett, and Debbie & Scott Wristen; three sons and their wives, Larry & Pam Beasley, Daine & Cindy Beasley, and Joe Killgore. He is also survived by a brother, J. L. Beasley, 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to say special thanks to Dr. Sudha Mehta, Dr. Brian Ganesh, and to his care givers, Sally, Lila, Chelsea, Miranda and Lynn, and a special thank you to Nebra.
