Son of George Lewis and Millie Ann Reid; born December 16, 1892, Hebbardsville, Ky. Moved to Evansville, Ind. in 1915. Painter. Entered service March 31, 1918, Evansville. Sent to Camp Taylor, Ky.; assigned to Company B, 47th Infantry, 4th Division. Transferred to Camp Mills, N. J.; embarked May 10, 1918. Killed in action July 31, 1918, Chateau-Thierry, near Sergy. Buried near where he fell. Survived by widow, Nellie Reid, and two children Herman Chandos, and Lillian Captolia.
