Joe married Doris Williams, a Stillwater native whom he met while in college, right after graduation in 1949. They had their two daughters while living in Stillwater.
Joe's job as a County Extension Agent and a 4-H agent took him to several towns in Oklahoma. Then in 1961, he moved his family out to the state of Washington, following his brother Bob who had moved to Oregon in 1957. Joe and Doris lived in Goldendale, Pasco, Olympia, and Laramie, WY before he retired in Olympia in 1984.
Joe lived in many places during his life and knew many people. Both he and his brother were great about staying in touch with their many friends and relatives. They both had a great sense of humor, had many funny sayings that they were ALWAYS saying, and they always looked at the positive side of life. They are both terribly missed by their families. When God made them, he broke the mold. There will never be any two like them again!
