John F. Esparza, of Tomball, Texas, went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2016, two weeks shy of his 75th birthday. John was in Phoenix on the occasion of celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife, Joan.
John dedicated his life to his wife and children.
A hardworking and proud American with conservative values, John was so proud to serve his country as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation from April 1972 to October 1998. He was assigned to Albuquerque, Los Angeles, FBI Headquarters, and Washington Field Offices, and retired out of the Houston Division.
John’s life epitomized the meaning behind the FBI’s seal. Courage, valor, strength, cleanliness, light, truth and peace. The FBI’s motto, ‘Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity,’ succinctly describes John and the way he lived his life.
But there was nothing more important to him than his family. John proudly said his greatest accomplishment was “his girls.”
A humble man, he enjoyed his “nummies” and listening to music, especially James Taylor.
John leaves behind the love of his life, best friend, and wife of exactly 50 years, Joan, of Tomball, Texas, daughter Paula Davis (Gary) of Katy, Texas; daughter Noelle Leonard (Tom), of Strasburg, Virginia; daughter Danielle Allen (Marcus), of Waxhaw, North Carolina; and grandchildren, Madeline Leonard, Thomas Leonard Jr, Rylee Leonard, Christopher Davis, Blaine Davis, Charlie Allen, Louis Allen, and Eliette Allen.
A Rosary and viewing for John Esparza will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016, at Saint Anne Catholic Church, 1111 S. Cherry Street, Tomball, Texas 77375 from 10:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A Mass for John will begin at 10:30 AM.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI.
