PARLANTE. John Parlante Sr., 64, of 321 Rainbow Road, Windsor, died Wednesday (Sept. 7) at Mount Sinai Hospital. Born in Hartford, he lived in Windsor for 30 years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, and had served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea. He was a trucker for many years before retirement, and associated with area Teamster Unions. He leaves his wife, Dorothy (Gates) Parlante; two sons, John Parlante Jr. of Hebron, and Timothy Parlante of East Hartford; a daughter, Tina Conklin of Ellington; a stepson, Peter Hedding of Hartford; four stepdaughters, Dolores Tantillo of Stafford, Sherry Scollo of Salem, Linda Toft of Windsor, and Deborah Malasky of East Windsor; a brother, Anthony Parlante of East Hartford; a sister, Mary LeMay of Windsor Locks; 25 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Loretta Smith; two brothers, Anneo, and Joseph; and a sister, Romelda Brushy. A private family service will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave., Poquonock section of Windsor. Burial will be in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Private family calling hours are today at the funeral home in Poquonock. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
