She was united in marriage Oct. 6, 1899 to Franklin Coats and to this union were born eight children; Mrs. John Norris of Mason Miss Neva of Lansing Miss Letha of Flint
Leon, Maynard, Vernie, Irene and Homer at home. Also an aged mother, one sister, Mrs. Fred Gifford of Winn, and three brothers, Vern Smith of Winn, Claud Smith of Springport and Alva J. Smith of Albion.
Mrs. Coats was an ardent lover of her home and the bereaved husband and family have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends. Funeral services were held at the Brookfield church and conducted by the pastor, Rev. L.B. Kenyon. Her last resting place was Clarnece Cemetery.
