Born July 25, 1926 to the late Albert H. and Ester M. (nee Herman) McQuistion in Mansfield, OH. Albert was a veteran of the US Navy during WW II. He served on the USS McDermut in the South Pacific. Albert earned the Silver Star for serving in 5 major battles including the battle of Leyte Gulf which was the largest battle of WW II. After being discharged from the Navy in 1945 he joined the carpenters union and started McQuistion Construction. He built many homes in the Geauga County area.
Albert was a member of Celebration Lutheran Church. He also was a Mason and belonged to the Village Lodge Masonic Temple #274 in Burton, OH. As a boy scout, Albert became interested in collecting arrowheads and built a large collection over the years. He belonged to an archeology society and loved native Indian history.
His family described him as a very strong honorable man that was very proud of his service to his country.
Albert is survived by his children, Stefanie Flora (husband Mark), and Albert H. (wife Linda) McQuistion; grandchildren, Christina Herron, Melanie Billman, Helen McQuistion, Michelle (Flora) Fischer, Harrison Flora; 4 great grandchildren; and a dear friend, Goldie Tenerove.
Besides his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his brother, Dave McQuistion (wife Marie).
Burial will be in Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH. All Services Are Private.
