Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery is presumed. Son of Marshall H. A. & Anna Lou (NISBET) deGRAFFENRIED.

"An Afflicted Family. // The truest, tenderest sympathies of this community and a large circle of friends throughout the State, are stirred to their very depths in recalling the afflictions that have befallen the family of the late James A. NISBET within the past three or four months. His widow, during that time, has followed to the grave the remains of a husband, an idolized daughter--Mrs. Geo. H. HAZLEHURST --and a lovely little grandchild--the son of Mr. Marshall deGRAFFENRIED--the two latter dying in the same house within twenty-four hours of each other. Surely the hand of the Master has been laid with especial heaviness upon this devoted wife and mother. If the sympathy of hosts of friends who can only offer the poor consolation of their heart-felt condolences could temper the keenness of her sharp grief, then, indeed, would she find comfort." [Macon (GA) Telegraph newspaper, Tuesday, 13 MAY 1873, p. 6.]

Marshall deGRAFFENRIED is said to have married first 16 APR 1863 in Bibb County, Georgia, to Pemelia M. ROSS (ca. 1841-ca. 1867); married second 08 DEC 1868 in Bibb County, Georgia, to Anna Lou NISBET (03 JUL 1841 Macon, Bibb County, GA-01 DEC 1873 Cloverdale, Dade County, GA); and married third 06 OCT 1875 in Bibb County, Georgia, to Mary Hazlehurst PLANT (08 DEC 1844 Macon, Bibb County, GA-13 DEC 1930 Atlanta, Fulton County, GA).
