Homer R. Arney, 57, a former resident of Oakland, died unexpectedly of a heart attack about 10 p.m. Wednesday in his home at 2031 7th Avenue in Terre Haute, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. DST at the 8th Avenue Baptist Church in Terre Haute on Saturday, September 25. They body is in a Terre Haute Funeral home.

Mr. Arney was born at Oakland, the son of Martin Van Buren and Sarah Southern Arney, on July 7, 1897. He went to school in this community and graduated from Oakland High School. He married Miss Minnie Stewart and farmed in this community for many years before moving to Terre Haute several years ago. He was employed at the time of his death as manager of the Columbian Enameling and Stamping Company.

He leaves his widow; a son, Orin, two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Brooks and Mrs. Nadine Davis, all of Terre Haute; his mother, Mars. Sarah Arney, Oakland; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Terre Hate, and Clifford, Ashmore; and two sisters, Mrs. Alvin Dittamore, Oakland, and Mrs. Earl Ashmore, Alton.
