PHILIP CHARLES PIO SR., 68, a retired contractor, died Saturday at his home in Roxborough.
Mr. Pio, who graduated from Simon Gratz High School, owned Philip Pio Construction Inc., a water and sewer construction firm in Philadelphia. He was a member of the United Contractors Association of Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware and a member of Operating Engineers Local 542.
Mr. Pio was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Sons of Italy Lodge No. 2217.
He was a World War II veteran who served with the Navy Seabees.
Survivors: his wife, Anne Scacco Pio; son, Philip Charles Jr.; daughter, Dorothy Chapman, and five grandchildren.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 Cathedral Rd., Roxborough; burial, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
