Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Freda Bearb Lagneaux, 82, who died on Monday, October 10, 2016 at her residence in Judice surrounded by her family.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.

Reverend O. Joseph Breaux will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters, Connie L. Duhon and her husband, Calvin of Maurice and Becky L. Breaux and her husband, René of Judice; her two stepdaughters, Flodry L. Richard of Erath and Beverly Lagneaux of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Kyle Paul Duhon, Kayla Duhon Girouard, Miranda Breaux Landry, Madelyn Rene Breaux, Myles Paul Breaux; two step grandchildren, Drusilla Ann Richard and Gayle Broussard Milam; eight great grandchildren, Kameron Paul Duhon, Kohen Jude Duhon, Kole Thomas Duhon, Demi Marie Girouard, Maddox Ewing Girouard, Layne Paul Landry, Laila Nichole Landry, and Layton Joseph Landry; one step great grandchild, Charles Joseph Milam; one brother, Doris Bearb of Judice; and her companion and dear friend, Raymond Oates.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyce Lagneaux; one daughter, Pauline Gayle Lagneaux; her son, Johnny James Menard; her parents, Eurice Jack Bearb and Emelia Semar Bearb; and her siblings, Aurelien "Bill" Bearb, Amelia Bearb, Elvie Bearb Boudreaux, Leora Bearb Falcon, Cleveland Bearb and Horace Bearb.

A native of Bristol and a resident of the Judice Community for most of her life, Mrs. Lagneaux owned and operated the Doyce Lagneaux Store in Judice and worked alongside her late husband for many years. She enjoyed camping and was a member of the Crusin Cajuns Motor Home Club, Les Amis Cajuns, the Bayou Ramblers and the Boat Club.

Pallbearers will be Rene' Breaux, Calvin Duhon, Myles Breaux, Kyle Duhon, Josh Landry and Mott Girouard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Bourque, Doris Bearb, and Raymond Oates.

A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
