Dick Alexander was born August 10, 1929 in Gallatin, MO, the son of the late Holland M. Alexander and Frances Myrl Musselman Alexander (Langford). He had returned to Gallatin several years ago after residing for many years in Phoenix, AZ.

After assisting with the family farm during his youth, he honorably served two years as an Army Corporal medic from April 1, 1952 to March 10, 1954. Using the GI Bill, he graduated from the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ with a bachelor’s of science degree in pharmacology. Dick managed and operated two pharmacies – family-owned McCrary’s and an Osco Pharmacy in Phoenix, AZ for more than 30 years.

Dick retired in the late 1980s and became a local retail entrepreneur. During his many years in Arizona, he was an avid desert game hunter and enjoyed recreational vehicle adventuring. He returned to Gallatin to live after the death of his mother. Dick was a collector of many things large and small and will be sorely missed by auctioneers across Northwest Missouri.
