Patrick M. “Mike” Baca, 68, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 10, 2016.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Virginia; their children, Mikie (Laura) Baca, and children, Ronnie, Lanette, Justin, Wyatt, Garrett, Lacey; Carol Baca, Melanie Baca, and Adrianne (Rudy) Acosta and children, Carmelita, Austin, Dylan and Dalisia; mother, Margaret Baca; siblings, Esther Self, Dorothy Martinez, Charlene Maes, Chris Campos (Darlene Armijo), Christine (Raul) Estrada, Jeff (LaVonna) Baca, Angela Vigil (Carl Groller); in-laws, Anthony DeHerrera, Leona Garcia (Marvin Persohn), Florence (Rodger) Romero, Bobby (Caryl) DeHerrera and Johnny (Mary) DeHerrera; 11 godchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family; and lifelong friends, Mike and Beverly Lopez. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Charlie P. Baca; sister, Elizabeth Campos; in-laws, John F. and Carmelita De-Herrera, Ted Maes; and nephew, David Chacon. Rosary, 6 p.m. Friday, Mass of the Resurrection, 10 a.m. Saturday, both services at St. Leander Catholic Church. Military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team.

Patrick M. “Mike” Baca, 68, went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2016. He was born September 29, 1948 in Roy, New Mexico at his Grandma Lita Maestas’ home. He spent his formative years there in Roy and in Sabinoso at his Grandparents Sacramento and Anne Baca’s ranch. Mike loved his grandparents deeply. He went to school in New Mexico and Pueblo, where he graduated from East High School in 1966. Before he graduated he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served 4 years including one tour in Vietnam, after which he received an Honorable Discharge. Mike was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 61, where he served as Post Commander for 2 terms, as well as, District 2 Commander. He retired with 36 years of service to the Pueblo Chemical Depot, where he was Major Baca, Chief of Security.
