Billy Jack Anderson, 80, of Gainesville, MO passed away on September 27, 2016 at his residence. He was born April 12, 1936 in Mountain View, AR, the son of Orville and Mary (Smith) Anderson.
Billy was the oldest of eleven children born to Orville and Mary. After his parents were killed in a car accident, Billy raised his younger siblings. He worked many years in construction and was a very talented gunsmith. He lived in the Boot heel area of Missouri for several years before coming to the Ozarks in the mid 1990’s. He met Gladys Bragg and made his home with her in Gainesville. Billy loved to fish, hunt and go camping. He was always right at home in the outdoors.
He is survived by his long-time companion, Gladys Bragg of the home in Gainesville; his son Edward Anderson of Pocahontas, AR; three grandchildren; his siblings Raymond Anderson and wife Martha of Pocahontas, AR, Sharon Mueller and husband Travis of Union City, TN, George Anderson and wife Patricia of Kennett, MO, Kerman Anderson and wife Rita of Kennett, MO, Johnnie Anderson and wife Gladys of Flat River, MO, Dennis Anderson and wife Pat of Campbell, MO; two sisters-in-law Brenda Anderson of Advance, MO and Marilyn Anderson of Pocahontas, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers T.J. Anderson, Jerry Anderson, Dwayne Anderson and Carl Anderson.
Funeral services for Billy will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Dale Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Sims Cemetery. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
