He became associated with Silver Burdette & Company, publisher in Chicago. Hugh in 1889, was one of the officers of Scott, Foreman & Company of Chicago. His brother, William Coates Foresman, engaged in the business, 1896.

Hugh Austin Foresman, 92, chairman of Scott, Foresman & Co, educational publishers died Wed in his home 58 Fox Lake, Winnetka. The home offices of the Co. which publishes the textbooks are at 433 E. Erie St.
Mr. Foresman a native of Easton, Pa and E.H. Scott founded Company in 1896. Mr. Foresman became president after Mr. Scott's death in 1929 and board chairman in 1943.
His widow, Lila, three daughters, Mrs. Richmond Kenyon, Mrs. Warren McCracken, Mrs. Theron Chapman. Seven grandchildren and a sister survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday in Winnetka Congregational Church, 725 Pine Street.
