Heaven was known Shae or Shae Shae to family and friends.She was described as a friendly and obedient child who loved bike riding, swimming, basketball, eating out at Red Lobster and watching TV. She especially loved to give hugs. On the morning of August 19, 2003, Shae was 11 years old. She left home to walk a short distance to the school bus stop where her older sister was waiting for her. She never made it. She was the subject of a 3 and 1/2 year search when sadly, on December 18, 2006, her remains were found in an abandoned house 8 miles from her home.
One of Shae's teachers wrote "....I had the amazing privilege of knowing your daughter..... She touched my heart with her sweet spirit and hugs. It always made my day to get a hug from her"
