Charles "Chuck" C. Cutler, 83, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Grancare Nursing Home.
He was born on November 17, 1932, in Fond du Lac, a son of Frank and Lenore Dreifuerst Cutler. Chuck was a graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School, Class of 1951.
Chuck served with the United States Army from March 1952- March 1954, and served with the National Guard.
On December 5, 1954, he married Beverly "Bev" D. Lemke at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2016.
Chuck owned and operated Chuck's Auto Salvage for 25 years. He later worked for Fond du Lac County, transporting for the Handy Van for 16 years. He was past president and director of Wisconsin Auto and Truck Part Recyclers Association and was active in a number of other professional community action groups. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was a longtime sponsor of Fond du Lac Softball League.
He was a charter member of Luther Memorial Church.
He is survived by three children: Darlene (Tim) Sullivan of Spokane, Washington, Greg (friend, Julie LeMieux) Cutler of Fond du Lac, and Michael (Elizabeth) Cutler of Germantown; seven grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Cutler of Fond du Lac; a sister, Shirley Gallert of Van Dyne; a sister-in-law, LaRita Lemke of Fond du Lac; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bev; a grandson, Adam; and a sister, Sylvia Rolland.
VISITATION: The visitation will be from 9:00 - 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016, at Luther Memorial Church, 134 21st Street, Fond du Lac.
SERVICE: The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at Luther Memorial Church with Rev. Neal Radichel officiating.
Cremation will follow the traditional service. A private family inurnment service will take place at Estabrooks Cemetery.
