Robert Kersbergen, 82, of Rock Valley died Tuesday Dec. 1, 1998, at Hegg Memorial Hospital.
Services were Saturday at First Congregational Church, Doon, with interment at Hillside Cemetery.
Mr. Kersbergen was born Dec. 17, 1915, in Wilmont, Minn., the son of William and Susan (Dreier) Kersbergen. He moved with his family to Doon where he graduated Doon High School. He worked in Doon until serving in the Army during World War II, from 1941 - 1945.
On April, 15, 1942, he married Alice Hartington, Neb, They farmed near Doon. She died April 27, 1984.
He moved to Rock Valley in late 1984, and married Christina Rikkers on May 17, 1986.
He was a member of Doon VFW, American Legion, Boy Scouts, Farm Bureau, and Sapphire Masonic Lodge 427.
Survivors include his wife; one son, James of Iron Ridge, Wis,; one daughter, Nada Huston of Fairfax,Va,; one step son, Kenneth Van Dieren of Rochester, NY,; two step daughters, Jeanette Van Grootheest of Rock Valley and Beverly Van Bochove Sioux Falls S.D. three granddaughters, seven step-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren.
