Francis Patric Berry was the son of Francis Patrick Berry, Sr. and Esther Mehittable Day. He married Nancy Menerva Gideon around 1837, in Tennessee. They had six children: Sophie, Mary, Perlina, William, Edward, and Amanda. After Nancy died in 1864, he married Rebecca Thomason, the daughter of John Matlock Thomason and Ladocia Fawcett, on January 2, 1864, in Stone County, Missouri. They had ten children: Nancy, Docia, Francis, David, Joseph, Alexander, John, Henderson, Thomason, and Olive. Francis served as a Sergeant in F Company, 14th Cavalry Regiment, Missouri State Militia (Union Army). He fought at the Battle of Ozark, Missouri.Born Hawkins OR Jefferson County TN
